PROFILE OF LADY JOAN EHIMWENMA DIMUNA

B.Sc. (Ed.) Chemistry, M.Sc. (Industrial Chemistry), TRCN, LSM.

Lady Joan Ehimwenma Dimuna is the current Executive Principal of Idia College, Benin City. She is a Bini by tribe, born and raised in Benin City. She had her early Education at Iguodala Primary School, Muritala Muhammed way and Anglican Girls’ Grammar School Adesuwa Road, Benin City respectively.
She is a graduate of both the then Bendel State University, Abraka Campus and the University of Benin, Benin City. She holds the Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry Education (B.Sc. (Ed.) Chemistry) of the then Bendel State University, Abraka Campus; and a Post Graduate degree (M.Sc. Industrial
Chemistry) of the University of Benin, Benin City Edo State. She is professionally registered with Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). She is the current Chairman of All Nigerian Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) Oredo Local Government Area.

She has been a Chemistry Teacher in many Schools, Oba Ewuare Grammar School, Iyekeogba Grammar School, Eweka Secondary School and Ogbe Secondary School all in Benin City. She has over the years served as a Senior Chemistry Teacher, Vice-Principal and Principal respectively. She is currently an Executive Principal (Directorate Grade Level 17).

She was posted to head the prestigious Idia College, Benin City in the 2022/2023 academic session. Since her assumption of duty, to the glory of God, the College is witnessing progressive transformation both in terms of academic, physical, environmental sanitation, sports activities and social developments.

This is due to the Educational reforms of the Edo State Governor His Excellency Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki through the transformation agenda EdoBEST 2.0 of the Honorable Commissioner of Education Edo State Dr. Joan Osa Oviawe and her Ministry, the tremendous support of the various sets of the Old Girls’ Association and the cooperation of the staff and students of the College.

She is a devoted Christian and a Lady of Noble Knight of St. Mulumba, Nigeria. She is happily married to Arc. Dr. K.O. Dimuna; a chartered Architect and an Associate Professor of Architecture. The marriage is blessed with children.
